![]() Weiss) is a child prodigy who is abducted at a young age and raised in a think tank called the Centre, based in the fictional town of Blue Cove, Delaware. Van Sickle began updating the story with a book series and graphic novels the first, The Pretender: Rebirth, was published on October 7. In 2013, creators Steven Long Mitchell and Craig W. TNT ordered two sequel television films that aired in 2001- The Pretender 2001 and The Pretender: Island of the Haunted. A part of the network's Saturday night lineup, NBC cancelled the series after four seasons. The series was inspired by serial impostor Ferdinand Waldo Demara. In the meantime, Jarod searches for his origins, and leads Miss Parker, Sydney and Broots on a chase to discover the dark secrets of The Centre, including how they are involved in the death of Miss Parker's mother. In each episode, Jarod assumes a new professional identity (e.g., doctor, lawyer, soldier, pilot) to investigate a crime framed on someone else, and deliver justice to the actual culprits. He is chased by a trio of Centre agents-Miss Parker (the daughter of a pivotal figure within The Centre), Sydney (a Centre psychologist who raised Jarod) and Broots (a Centre computer expert). After being kidnapped as a child by The Centre, a sinister think tank located in the fictional Blue Cove, Delaware, who exploited his Pretender abilities, Jarod escapes as an adult and goes on the run. The series follows Jarod, a young man who is a "Pretender", a genius impostor able to quickly master the complex skill sets necessary to impersonate a member of any profession. It’s absolutely nothing to do with rock ‘n’ roll and anyone who thinks it is is a fool. The Pretender is an American action drama television series created by Steven Long Mitchell and Craig W. Other than Neil Young’s participation in the induction process, the whole thing was, and is, total bollocks. ( like moving out of the USA and being arrested at PETA protests and my general personality ). I’d upset them enough by then, so it was one of those things that would bail me out from years of disappointing them. My heart sank because I knew I’d have to go back for it as it would be too much of a kick in the teeth to my parents if I didn’t. ![]() I was living a happy life in Rio when I got the call I was being inducted. ![]() I got in a band so I didn’t have to be part of all that. It’s just more establishment backslapping. I don’t even wanna be associated with it. If anyone wants my position in the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame they are welcome to it. “It’s absolutely nothing to do with rock ‘n’ roll and anyone who thinks it is is a fool.” “Other than Neil Young’s participation in the induction process, the whole thing was, and is, total bollocks,” Hynde wrote. In a message on Facebook today, presumably reacting to Love’s op-ed, she writes that she only attended her own 2005 induction to make her parents happy. You can count Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders among those without respect for the Rock Hall. Even Jann Wenner, who co-founded the Hall and presided over it for years, is now a vocal critic. Todd Rundgren called it a “ scam,” and even if Philip Selway says otherwise, it spoke volumes when Thom Yorke and the Greenwood brothers did not show up for Radiohead’s induction. Lots of artists in the Rock Hall are either indifferent toward or actively repulsed by the institution. It echoed complaints from Alanis Morisette of a sexist production environment at last year’s ceremony. Earlier today Courtney Love published a Guardian op-ed decrying a history of “sexist” gatekeeping at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
